This answers the visa-free visitor question. A national long-stay visa or residence permit takes you off the 90/180 clock, and it is not tax advice.

The calculator is interactive and needs JavaScript. The rule itself: for any day inside the Schengen area, count your days of presence across the 180 days ending on and including that day, entry and exit day both count, and the total must stay at or below 90. The window rolls forward daily and never resets on 1 January. A national long-stay visa or residence permit takes those days off the clock entirely.
