Build a Life In helps you think about living across countries. It models day counts, tax-residence thresholds, visa allowances, citizenship clocks and company exposure so you can see the shape of a decision.

It is not legal, tax, immigration, financial or investment advice, and we are not a law firm, a tax practice or a regulated adviser. Nothing here creates a professional relationship or a duty of care in respect of your affairs. Its purpose is to make a conversation with a qualified professional shorter, sharper and cheaper. Always take advice before you act.

About the data

Country facts are researched from public sources, carry the source and the date we checked them, and are given an honest confidence level. They are not expert-reviewed, and we never claim otherwise.

Immigration and tax rules change constantly and often without notice. A figure that was correct when we checked it may be wrong by the time you read it. You must verify anything that matters against the primary source or with a professional before relying on it. Our trust and sources page explains how we handle this, including the re-verification schedule.

The free tools

The planner, the builder, the calculators, the country pages and the guides are free to use, provided as they are, and may change or be withdrawn at any time. Your answers are saved in your own browser, so clearing your browser data clears your work and we cannot restore it.

The full report, £49

The full report is a one-off purchase. What you get is a researched document built on the brief you send us: the figures that apply to your situation checked against their sources and dated, a deeper read on your company and tax position, and the questions to take to a specialist. It is a written planning document, not a consultation, and not advice.

We aim to deliver within 3 working days of receiving your brief. We need that brief to start: your answers are stored in your browser, so until you send them we do not know your situation. If you do not send a brief and do not reply to us, we will contact you at the email address Stripe gives us and, failing that, refund you.

Refunds and cancellation

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a service bought online. Because the report is prepared specifically for you, that right can be lost once we have started, so we keep it simple: you can cancel for a full refund at any time before we send your report. Just reply to your receipt.

After delivery, if the report is not what was described, tell us what is wrong and we will correct it or refund you. We would rather fix it than argue. Email hello@buildalife.in.

Specialist introductions and partner links

Where we introduce you to a professional, we are not a party to whatever you agree with them, we do not supervise their work and we are not responsible for it. Satisfy yourself about their qualifications and regulatory status.

Some links to service providers are partner links and we may earn a commission. It never changes what you pay and it never changes what the tool recommends. Those companies are not our agents and we are not responsible for their services.

What you agree to

Use the site lawfully. Do not scrape it at volume, resell or republish its content as your own, reverse-engineer it to build a competing dataset, or present its output to others as professional advice. The site, its content, its wording and its underlying models remain ours.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us and for the decisions you make. Any figure you enter is an assumption you are choosing to test, not a fact we have verified about you.

Limits of our liability

We provide the site and the report with reasonable care and skill, but we do not warrant that the data is complete, current or error-free, nor that any outcome you are hoping for will follow.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any tax, penalty, interest, refused application, lost opportunity, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or the report, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published here when you use the site or place an order. These terms and any dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings where you live.
