What we collect, which is very little.

The short version

Everything you enter into the planner, your passport, where you are based, how you earn, your company and your day plan, is stored in your own browser and is never sent to us. We cannot see it. If you buy the full report, you choose to send it to us, and that is the only way it reaches us.

We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising profiles on you, and we do not email you unless you have contacted us or bought something.

Your planning answers stay with you

The site saves your answers to your browser's local storage under the key buildalife.world.v1. That is a store on your own device, not on our servers. It survives reloads so your work is not lost, and you can wipe it at any time by clearing site data in your browser, or by using the clear control in the planner.

Because that data never leaves your device, we cannot recover it for you, and we cannot see what you planned. That is the trade we chose deliberately.

The brief you send us

If you buy the full report, we ask you to send us a brief. That is a link which encodes the answers listed above so we can rebuild your plan. It contains no name, email address or payment details. You send it, by email or by pasting the link, so nothing is transmitted without your action.

We keep the brief and the email thread while we produce your report and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us, then we delete it on request. Email info@thehopiumlab.com and we will remove it.

Payments

Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe processes your name, email address and payment information as its own controller for that purpose, under its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. We receive the fact of your payment, your name and your email address, so we can deliver what you bought and keep the records tax law requires.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard server request data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. That is ordinary infrastructure logging, not profiling by us.

Analytics

We use our own analytics (youforgot analytics, served from analytics.youforgot.marketing) to understand which pages are useful. It is cookieless and aggregate: it measures pages, not people. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device that survives the tab, does not track you across other sites, and builds no advertising profile. What it records is the sort of thing a server log holds anyway, such as the page viewed and the referring site.

It honours your browser's Do Not Track setting: turn that on and it records nothing at all. It never sees anything you typed into the planner, because that data stays in your browser and does not reach us. Because no cookies or device identifiers are involved, there is nothing here that needs a consent banner.

Links to other companies

Some links to service providers are partner links, and we may earn a commission if you set something up through one. Following such a link takes you to that company, whose own privacy policy then applies. It never changes what you pay, and it never changes what the tool recommends.

Your rights

Where UK and EU data protection law applies, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, and to receive a copy. Because the planner keeps your answers on your own device, in most cases the only personal data we hold is an email thread and a payment record.
